Cosmetic dentists you can count on

Cosmetic dentistry describes dental procedures that are designed to enhance the appearance of your smile. Our dentists can give you the beautiful, natural looking smile you've always wanted. Get in touch with us for more information. We welcome patients from across Glasgow.

White fillings

One option to improve the appearance of your smile is to have your old, metal fillings replaced with tooth-coloured composite or ‘white’ fillings.

This is a safe procedure in which the metal filling in the tooth is removed, including any decay detected and a tooth-coloured filling is placed instead. This will allow you to smile without a metallic glint in sight, giving your teeth a more natural overall appearance.

We believe prevention is better than cure and will always encourage and guide you in looking after your teeth to prevent decay in the first place. If however, you do require a filling then we like to recommend tooth-coloured fillings as a solution that is both aesthetic and functional.

Inlays and onlays

Inlays and onlays are used when a filling may not be suitable or an old filling needs to be removed. It's applied to the biting surface of the tooth to avoid any further structural damage and further decay.

Clear Aligners – Invisalign

Designed to blend into your mouth and to look completely natural, Clear Aligners are a completely clear and extremely clever straightening treatment.

Just like a mouth guard, a clear aligner is worn over the teeth, fitting comfortably and snugly against them.
The sophisticated technology has been developed to tackle a range of orthodontic issues, such as misaligned teeth, protruding front teeth, bite problems and gaps.

Once you have been fitted with your first set of aligners, we will provide a newly adjusted pair every two to three weeks. Each one will be altered by a tiny amount to help your teeth move into their new position.

Worn for 22 hours a day, the aligners are removable and easy to keep clean. Treatment times vary for each patient and can take up to 15 months.

BIOMIMETIC DENTISTRY

Biomimetic dentistry is a treatment approach that attempts to preserve as much intact tooth structure as possible whilst restoring the function and biomechanics of a natural tooth. For example, when a tooth requires a crown or onlay/overlay to protect it from fracturing, rather than create mechanical retention for the restoration by cutting away healthy, intact tooth structure, we can simply bond or adhere the restoration to whatever intact tooth structure is left, thereby preserving as much tooth structure as possible and hopefully keeping it in the mouth for longer.

Veneers

Veneers are extremely thin custom-made shells of ceramic material that are bonded to the front of the tooth. These are handcrafted by a technician to improve the colour, shape and position of your teeth.

Emergency Dental Care

Dental emergencies can be painful and traumatic, so we always do our best to treat patients experiencing such problems quickly and efficiently.

Whatever your emergency, whether you have experienced a dental trauma and have lost or damaged a tooth or are suffering from a gum infection, we will try and resolve the problem to minimise your discomfort

Maryhill Smile Care offers emergency appointments so we always make the time to see you. Our appointment times have been extended so that we can meet your dental needs at a time convenient for you.

When patients experience an unexpected problem, our helpful reception staff will consult with the dentist to make sure you receive useful advice and are given the earliest available appointment.

Dental implant

Have you lost all or some of your natural teeth? bridges, dentures and flexible dentures are not the only solution, thanks to advances in modern dentistry.

Dental implants are small metal screws that are placed in the jaw so that crowns, bridges and dentures can be fixed onto them.
Implant dentistry offers a clinically proven and safe solution to getting back a great smile.

When you lose your natural teeth, your jaw bone and surrounding tissues start to shrink or disappear over time. When implants are placed in the jaw, it stimulates the remaining bone to grow and mesh around the metals.

More importantly, implants help restore function so you can eat, chew and bite with confidence and ease.

Airflow Tooth Polishing

Airflow tooth polishing is proven to give your mouth a cleaner, fresher feeling than traditional cleaning methods.

Using a powerful stream of water, fine powder particles and compressed air, this sophisticated cleaning system strips away plaque and bacteria without making direct contact with your dental enamel.

Unlike traditional cleaning methods, the Airflow Tooth Polishing system does not leave patients teeth feeling overly sensitive or uncomfortable, as there is no scraping or rubbing of the teeth.

The system is three times faster than manual cleaning and cleans right to the gum line. It is proven to produce noticeable brighter teeth and fresher breath.

Whether you want to restore your smile, make it straighter or brighter or simply stay on top of your oral health, our team can help you do that!
